ELC was founded in 2003 to develop Christian leaders globally as the most effective way to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. The Board of Directors chose to participate in the Million Leaders Mandate (MLM) initiative. In 2012, the Board decided that ELC would prioritize "restricted access" regions for it's MLM training. The MLM goals were achieved in 2015 and ELC has trained leaders in 35 nations.
In 2016, the Board, after prayerfully considering the future of ELC, reaffirmed its original objectives, approved the vision of "encouraging leadership as Jesus intends" and selected "Authentic Leadership: Living In Newness Of Life" as the curriculum for global and national leadership training seminars.

ELC prioritizes restricted access regions where:
Christian leadership training is not readily available;
Christians are marginalized, oppressed or persecuted;
where Jesus is least known.
ELC delivers its customized leadership training through a global network of national and international Christian Partners. Partners select the leaders for training and understand the unique needs of the region, producing a strategic and relevant response.
Leaders who have taken the training are encouraged to improve the quality of life in their areas of influence in their particular region. These projects vary greatly as the relate to the specific needs of the region.

Mark’s ministry career has been global, prioritizing Christian leadership. He is responsible for implementing the ELC Board’s decisions through his leadership of the ELC staff. He enjoys being in God’s creation and playing with his grandchildren.
International Program Director
Paul has served as a pastor, professor, Seminary President and National Director of the Billy Graham Association, Portugal. His extensive international experience and passion for the essence and strategy of ELC are invaluable to our expanding global influence.
Resource & Development
Sandy’s role with ELC allows her to connect Canadian resources with global needs. Her experience in international work has shown that if the leaders are not ‘equipped’ the need to return with aid will always remain.
Al is the President of Heritage Insurance Agency and Board member (Treasurer) for Meadowood Manor Foundation, a faith based Seniors Independent Living complex based in Winnipeg, MB. Al is a gifted networker, enjoys connecting resources to need, and relaxes with golf and travel.
Jim holds post graduate degrees in education and curriculum development. He has been a teacher, professor, education policy analyst, an executive pastor and church director of development. Currently, he is the Chairman, Advisory Board Special Projects for Best Environmental Technologies Inc. of Edmonton, AB.
Finance & Communications Director
Julia has been with ELC for over 8 years and loves being a part of the world wide Equip family. She has many ‘behind the scenes’ responsibilities with Equip, but especially enjoys seeing and sharing the photos and stories from our international projects.
